Remember how you always loved my opening of the women's bathroom that we decorated in the lobby of the Alexandria Y? We had such a party!!! Members, staff, family, friends all gathered for the ribbon ceremony. In order to get into the party one had to write their favorite bathroom graffiti on a large white board in the lobby. Some very funny comments. It was fun, it was nuts!

Jimbo, a good friend and great leader in the YMCA, Chuck Kajawa, always ended his training with the same poem. He was famous for it. It was hard not to get something new out of it almost every time you heard it.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it strange how princes and kings,
and clowns that caper in sawdust rings,
and common people, like you and me,
are builders for eternity?
Each is given a list of rules;
a shapeless mass; a bag of tools.
And each must fashion, ere life is flown,
A stumbling block, or a Stepping-Stone.
